Kaye Adams is a Scottish eminent television presenter and journalist. She is notably known for being one of four anchors on ITV topical discussion show Loose Women from 1999 to 2006. And again from 2013 in which she left to become a regular panelist on Channel 5’s daily morning show, The Wright Stuff from 2007 until 2012. Currently, she hosts the morning show on BBC Radio Scotland on weekdays from 9 am to 12 noon.

She started her career as a graduate trainee at Central Television, where she concentrated on political and news journalism. Thus her first coup was an hour interview with Margaret Thatcher. For the next few years, she remained focused on hard news when she moved to Scottish Television’s nightly news program, Scotland Today in early 1988. That same year, she was one of the first journalists on the scene of the Lockerbie disaster. In 1992, a chance opportunity to host a discussion show for Scottish Television after its original anchor Sheena McDonald set Adams on a different path.
Scottish Women ran for six years under Adams’s chair (1993 to 1999) and won a number of awards and marked the start of Adams’ career as a talk show host. Since her original success with Scottish Women, she has presented ITV Weekend Live, three series of Central Weekend Live with Nicky Campbell and John Stapleton; Esther, latterly Kaye for BBC Two; and Pride and Prejudice for BBC Scotland. Moreover, she co-presented the last ever This Morning before Richard and Judy left.
Whereas in 2002, she was This Moring’s daily live anchor from Australia. There, she reported on the first series of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! And has also appeared on Lily Savage’s Blankety Blank. Between 1999 and 2006, she anchored the ITV talk show, Loose Women combined with the rest of the female panel. She went on to return to the panel on November 5, 2013, with Carol Vorderman and Andrea McLean. Former Loose Women Ruth Langford returned to co-anchor the program in January 2014 with Adams, Vorderman, and McLean in rotation.
But Vorderman left the show in July 2014. Moreover, she has presented a daytime show called The People Versus as well as appeared as a panelist and latterly as chair of Have I Got News for You. Between 2007 and 2010, she regularly hosted and was a panelist on the Channel 5 panel show, The Wright Stuff. In late 2008, she narrated a six-part documentary series, The Merchant Navy on STV. Next, she returned to STV on May 26, 2009, more than 20 years after her first appearance on the station. She made her return as a guest co-host on the lifestyle program, The Hour with Stephen Jardine.
And also presented four shows. That year in August, she joined a long team of reporters on The One Show. Having reported in 1988 on the Lockerbie bombing for STV, she narrated a special documentary, The Lockerbie Bomber: Sent Home to Die for the Scottish television channel which aired on August 9, 2010. Since 2011, she has guest presented Channel 5’s LIVE with the program. Furthermore, she co-hosted the daytime chat show Sunday Scoop in 2013 with Nadia Sawalha. Both Adams and Nadia are represented by Nicole Ibisom of Ibison Talent Group who acts as both their agent and management.
In 2018, she and Nadia released a cookery book called Nadia & Kaye: Disaster Chef. Adams went on to join BBC Radio Scotland in March 2010, to become the host of the daily phone-in program, Call Key. But the show ended in 2015 and was then replaced by the launch of The Kaye Adams Show which runs every weekday from 9 am to 12 pm. Often, Kaye is covered by a guest host, particularly on a Friday due to her work on Loose Women. Adams was announced in 2022 as a contestant on the 20th series of Strictly Come Dancing.
