Gil Birmingham is a famous American professional actor. He is recognized for his role as Tribal Chairman Thomas Rainwater in the Paramount Network’s television series Yellowstone. Birmingham is also famous for his portrayal of Billy Black in The Twilight Saga movie series and recurring television roles as George Hunter in Banshee and Virgil White in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Birmingham was spotted at a local gym, where he had been bodybuilding and joining bodybuilding contests, by a talent scout in the early 1980s. He was then recruited for his first acting experience, in a music video for Diana Ross, for her 1982 hit single ”Muscles”

Following his appearance in Ross’s music video, Gil started to pursue acting as his primary career. He studied acting together with Charles Conrad and Larry Moss.
