
Major General Saleh Maina is a retired senior officer of the Nigerian Army who served as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Armoured Division in Jos, Plateau State.
Military Career and Key Commands
Rank: He attained the rank of Major General and was decorated on December 11, 2007.
Division Command: As GOC of the 3 Armoured Division, he also served as the Commander of the Special Military Task Force responsible for restoring law and order in the crisis-prone Plateau State, particularly during the 2010 Jos crises.
Crisis Management: His career has been defined by his involvement in internal security operations across Nigeria:
1982/1983: Contained the Maitatsine riots in Maiduguri, Borno State, as a young officer.
2005/2006: Served as Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade in Ilorin during the Offa/Erin-Ile crisis in Kwara State.

2009: Managed the initial Boko Haram uprisings in Bauchi and Maiduguri.
