THE GREAT DECEPTION: HOW “CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE” BECAME A PATHWAY TO NIGERIA’S OIL AND SOLID MINERALS

This is exactly what we were telling them: America has nothing to do with our skin colour, ethnicity, and religious affiliations, but with how to achieve its selfish interests. They didn’t listen.
Instead of reasoning with us, they resorted to calling us names like “Terrorists,” “Bandits,” “Illiterate Almajiris,” “Aboki na Aboki,” “sympathisers of bandits,” and so on.
Here it is: America helped them to promote the nuisance of the fabricated lies called “Christian genocide in Nigeria,” pretending to come into Nigeria for intervention over what they called “Christian killings.” They celebrated over it.
President Trump ordered the bombing of an open field and farmlands in Sokoto, Niger and Kwara States, Muslim enclaves. They celebrated blindly and unknowingly. We insisted on telling them: America is here not to kill the bandits or the Muslims. They refused. They kept celebrating: America is here for intervention over Christian genocide in Nigeria.
Some even said, very soon, America’s B-2 bombers would come around to send the bandits to hell. President Trump was the Messiah; they forgot Jesus Christ.
A few weeks later, American soldiers arrived on Nigerian soil, what the US called “boots on ground.” More jubilation from them: America the Messiah is here. As stated by Mr. Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, US forces were here to protect them. Celebrations across beer parlours and thanksgiving in Churches from Plateau to Benue, from Taraba to Onitsha, and so on.
On the arrival of America’s soldiers, called “boots on ground,” the US forces were deployed to solid mineral deposit grounds like Sokoto, Bauchi and Maiduguri, still in Muslim enclaves, not the insecurity flashpoints like Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Benue and others, where the thunderous and rapturous celebration for US boots on ground in Nigeria had its field day.
While intertribal killings were ongoing in Plateau, Taraba, Benue and others, US boots on ground were at secretly located mining sites in the country. Unknown to them, US troops were in Nigeria to secure mining sites, not Christians, as it was stated, posted and declared.
Suddenly, after threats with sanctions and more bombings, and pushing the government of the day to the wall, the government quietly succumbed to the demands of the US to avoid facing more sanctions and bombings over what the US called intervention over Christian killings in Nigeria.
From there, President Trump announced US forces ending Christian killings in Nigeria. It claimed to have killed one of the Boko Haram/ISWAP kingpin commanders, the man that was declared publicly by Nigerian soldiers to have been killed three years ago, that is in 2004, but Trump claimed of killings in 2026, and bla bla and more stories.
Trump announced the withdrawal of US troops after succeeding, in the end, in what they called the killings of Christians in Nigeria.
Today, despite Donald Trump’s declaration of ending the killings of Christians in Nigeria and withdrawing his troops, bandits, ISWAP, Boko Haram, and so on, continue to have a field day on our soil, killing Muslims alongside Christians — the very killings President Trump reported as having ended in Nigeria.
The condition of Plateau State continues to worsen, one of the places where Trump’s intervention was highly expected because of the endless nuisance of the fabricated lies of twisting reprisals attacks to what they called “Christian genocide” emanating from some individuals in the state.
WHAT DID AMERICA GET FROM NIGERIA?
What was being discussed with our government and agreed behind closed doors was made public three days ago. The US achieved a jackpot of getting access to Nigeria’s solid minerals.
On September 24, 2026, Nigeria and the United States signed a framework agreement aimed at deepening American investment in Nigeria’s mining sector and developing Nigeria’s mineral resources, which the Nigerian government estimates at about $700 billion.
The agreement covers geological data and exploration, mineral development and processing, infrastructure, and technical capacity. It also provides a framework for American investment and business-to-business partnerships across Nigeria’s mineral value chain.
Let us not forget, apart from the US leveraging on intervention over Christian killings in Nigeria to achieve a jackpot of getting access to Nigeria’s estimated $700 billion mineral resources, there is also the issue of the pipeline surveillance contract in the oil sector, which amounts to billions of naira.
The pipeline surveillance arrangement in Nigeria involves private security operators and community-based structures to protect oil infrastructure and combat crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism. The major contract involving Tantita Security Services has been renewed and defended by Nigerian authorities and lawmakers, while its value and structure have also generated public controversy.
The reality has surfaced itself. Our warnings and messages were: US is here for our oil and solid minerals, which they refused to listen to.
It turns out that what was achieved by the US is getting access to our solid minerals through a framework for American investment and cooperation across the mineral value chain, while Nigeria’s oil sector continues to operate major pipeline-surveillance contracts worth billions of naira. Apparently this is not about protection or ending Christian killings in Nigeria.
For those who don’t know, apart from the US leveraging on intervention over Christian killings in Nigeria in exchange for our resources, it has also used the pretext of fighting drug trafficking to hijack Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro for control over the country’s oil sector.
Today, in the ongoing war with Iran, the US is telling the world that it is fighting Iran for sponsoring terrorists and struggling to acquire nuclear weapons. The reality, as I see it, is targeting Iran’s abundant oil and gas deposits as well, to hijack one of the economy corridor doors of the world, the Strait of Hormuz.
The ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, engulfing the lives of Ukrainian Christians and Russian Christians, is one way of getting support from the US, which is claiming to be coming to stop the killings of Christians in Nigeria.
After Venezuela, a Christian country, today Greenland and Cuba, another fellow Christian countries, are being targeted by the US. The Christians in Nigeria are brainwashed to believe that they are the Messiah of the Christians in the world.
It’s unfortunate. Only an average black man like a Nigerian will think the US and Israel are for Christians and Christianity.
America is a country where many churches have been sold and converted to mosques; Israel, where Christians and Muslims are all victims of Zionism.
Still, an average Nigerian continues to believe their lies and propaganda in the media headlines, not because of anything but because they want the Muslims in Nigeria to be targeted.
A WORD OF WARNING TO NIGERIANS AND OTHER AFRICANS
Let Nigerians and other Africans be careful about blindly believing every narrative coming from the Western world. We must learn to question, investigate, and understand the interests behind the narratives being presented to us.
The West has its own interests, just as every other country does. We should not allow ourselves to be used against one another because of religion, ethnicity, or propaganda.
Africa must learn to think for itself, verify the facts, protect its resources, and put the interests of its people first.
