*Book Presentation*
A book, “Life Is A Journey”, jointly authored by an academic, Peter Umanah, PhD, and the Millennial Broadcaster, Essiet “Rockyfella” Nsudoh, is billed for public presentation, October 30.
The ceremony will mark the belated 57th birthday celebration of Chief Essiet Nsudoh which was due on the 6th of June this year, but had to be shifted so that the book, scheduled to headline the event, could be made ready.
The book presentation and birthday event which is scheduled to hold at Cardinal Ekanem Hall at the Pastoral Centre, Number 5, Dominic Utuk Avenue (former Brooks Street), Uyo, by 10 am, is expected to be graced by notable public figures among them the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Professor Christopher Ekong, the Director General of Governmental Business in Akwa Ibom State and legal luminary, Chief Assam Assam, SAN, as well as another learned silk, Barr Inam Akpadiaha Wilson Inam, SAN.
According to the authors, the publication is being undertaken in partnership with Jamaica’s Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports; the
Topfaith University, Mkpatak, Nigeria;
Prophet Tony Oyatedor, Chairman, Newstime Worldwide, Washington DC , United States of America and the
Big John Hotel,Eket.
Responding to questions from journalists during an interview in Uyo, both Dr Umana and Chief Nsudoh also made known that the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong will be the Chairman of the upcoming book presentation.
Similarly, the co-authors said that the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Aniekan Umana, PhD, will be the Chief Host during the October 30 book launch, while Mrs Imabong Udo, the Director General of Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation will be the host.
Also expected at the event will be the Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Council, Deaconess Glory Ekah Effiong who will serve as the Mother of the Day, while
Dr Emmanuel Abraham, Chairman Board of Topfaith University, will be the Father of the Day.
Also, Engineer Ime Archibong is expected to be the Chief Presenter with the Chairman, Eket Local Government Council, Mkpisong Akaniyene Tommy as well as the Chairman, Orue Offong Uruko Local Government Council the Rt Honourable Uno Etim Uno billed the book’s co-presenters.
According to the authors, the book, “Life Is A Journey”, chronicles the difficulties often faced by anyone whose ambition is to make a mark in life.
It encourages young people to set targets and work towards achieving such goals without distractions.
A portion of the book reads: “Everyone is a traveller.It is what you make of your travels that decides your success or failure”.
As goodwill messages pour in to acknowledge the book project, the Jamaican High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency, Lincoln.G.Downer, has described Chief Essiet “Rockefeller” Nsudoh as one who has cemented a cultural relationship between Nigeria and Jamaica.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the High Commissioner commended Chief Nsudoh’s steadfastness and commitment to his craft, noting that it has distinguished him as a broadcaster.
Meanwhile, the authors have expressed optimism that Akwa Ibom people will come out in their numbers to witness the double -barrelled event taking place in Uyo by the end of this month.
