Who is Olivia Holt?

Olivia Hastings Holt is an American actress and singer. She initially starred in the Disney XD series Kickin’ It, Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster and the Disney Channel Original Series/Didnt Do It. Holt portrayed the titular position Tandy Bowen/Dagger in the Freeform series Cloak & Dagger.

Olivia Holt’s Career

Holt had voice roles in the movies Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (2014) and Gnome Alone (2017). She has starred in the feature movies Class Rank (2017), Same Kind of Different as Me (2017) and Status Update (2018). Holt’s debut EP, Olivia, was released on Hollywood Records on July 15, 2016.

Holt began out her acing career in local theater productions and started appearing in television commercials at the age of 10. The products included Hasbro, Kidz Bop 14, Mattel, Bratz dolls, Little Pet Shop and Girl Gourmet. Possessing skills in gymnastics, she was cast in Disney XDs martial arts comedy Kickin It, that premiered on June 13, 2011.She performed the role of Kim, as the main character in seasons 1-3 and as a special guest in three episodes in season 4.

Holt additionally starred in the 2012 Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster, playing the lead character Skylar Lewis. The character is a teenager who finds out that her family have long worked as monster hunters and she is next in line. After leaving Kickin’ It she went to star in the Disney Channel half-hour comedy collection I Didn’t Do It, that premiered on January 17, 2014.

In January 2017, she was cast as Tandy Bowen/Dagger, one of the lead character in the Freeform and Marvel Comics television collection Cloak & Dagger. Along her co-star in Cloak & Dagger Aubrey Joseph, returned to voice their respective characters at the Disney XD animated series Spider-Man.

Holt joined the cast of the drama Same Kind of Different as Me, directed by Michael Carney in November 2014. She acted along Greg Kinnear and Renee Zellweger who played her characters mother and father in the movie and it was released in October 2017.

It was announced that Holt had been cast in a lead position in the indie comedy Class Rank, directed by Eric Stoltz in November 2015. In May 2016, it was additionally announced that she could star along Ross Lynch in Status Update, directed by Scott Speer, with filming to commence the following month in Vancouver, Canada.

Holt has recorded 3 songs for the 2012 film Girl vs. Monster wherein she also starred. She received a 2013 Radio Disney Music Award for Best Crush Song for Had Me @ Hello. Also she recorded a cover version of Winter Wonderland for the 2012 Disney Channel Holiday Playlist album. Her music Carry On was the theme music for the 2014 Disneynature movie Bears.
