Victoria Davey Spelling abbreviated as Tori Spelling is an American well-known actress and author. Her first major role came at the beginning of 1990 in the film Beverly Hills, 90210, where she played the role of Donna Martin. Thereafter, she went on to appear in television films such as A Friend to Die For (1994), A Carol Christmas (2003), The Mistle-Tones (2012), both versions of Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? (1996 & 2016) and The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time (2018).

In addition, she has starred in several independent films including; The House of Yes (1997), Trick (1999), Scary Movie 2 (2001), Cthulhu (2007), and Kiss the Bride (2007), and Izzie’s Way Home (2016). She then reprised her role of Donna Martin in 2019 in Beverly Hills 90210’s spin-off BH90210. Being an author, her autobiography, Stori Telling, debuted on top of the New York Times Best Seller list and was named the best celebrity autobiography of 2009.

She was born to Aaron Spelling (Father who was born on April 22, 1923, but died on June 23, 2006) an American film and television producer and occasional actor. And Candy Spelling (Mother born on September 20, 1945) is an American author, theatre producer, and philanthropist.

She began her acting lessons at the age of six when she an acting coach was hired by her father and was subsequently given guest spots on television series such as The Love Boat, T.J. Hooker, Hotel, Fantasy Island, Vega$ and Saved by the Bell. Because of having a taste of the film industry, she was then given the role of Donna Martin on Beverly Hills 90210, at the age of 17. She portrayed the role for the show’s entire run and was nominated for two Young Artist Awards. While starring in Beverly Hills, 90210, she was cast in a number of made-for-television films such as Co-ed Call Girl (1996), A Friend to Die For (1994), and Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? (1996), and several independent films, including The House of Yes (1997) and Trick (1999).

A Career from 2006 to 2009

During this period, she starred as herself in the VH1 sitcom So Notorious in 2006, a film that parodied her public image. She and her second husband Deam McDermott in January 2007 pretended to purchase and operate a bed and breakfast hotel, Chateau La Rue in Fallbrook, California for their reality series, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, originally Tori & Dean: Inn Love, which aired from 2007 to 2012 on Oxygen.

Tori then became a minister to marry a gay couple in July 2007 at Chateau La Rue. A tape of the wedding ceremony was shown on Inn Love. On March 11, 2008, she released her autobiography sTori TELLING. While her second book entitled, Mommywood was released on April 14, 2009. It was reported on January 7, 2009, that she would reprise her role as Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-offs 90210. Moreover, she appeared in the 19th and 20th episodes of the first season as a special guest star.

A Career from 2010 to Present

Her third book, Uncharted TerriTORI was released in 2010. She then told People: “I love sharing my stories and experiences with people and connecting to them on both a humorous and emotional leveL”. On April 6, 2011, Home Sweet Hollywood’s spin-off series, Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Wedding premiered. Later in 2011, Tori provide the voice of the Pirates Princess in Jake and the Never Land Pirates. In addition, she played a role in the comedy short film Hoarders: Untold sTori which premiered in July 2011 at the Outfest Film Festival.

She went on to make an appearance on Big Brother on September 4, 2011. On April 21, 2012, she hosted My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic ‘Royal Wedding’ special celebrating the series’ second-season finale, called A Canterlot Wedding. In addition, she made an appearance on Nicj Jr.’s Yo Gabba Gaba! on December 18, 2012, where she performed a skit where she baked cookies for the characters on the show. Thus this was a part of a Christmas special for the series. On August 26, 2013, it was announced that production had started on a reality television series titled Tori & Dean: Cabin Fever.

Career Continuation

The series chronicles her, McDermott, and their four children as they move to a lakeside cabin in Ontario, Canada while renovating it into their vacation home. Eight half-hour episodes were produced and aired in 2014 on CMT Canada and HGTV. In 2014 also, she starred in the short-lived ABC Family TV series Mystery Girls with former 90210 co-star Jennie Garth. Moreover, she has voiced April in the animated movie Izzie’s Way Home in 2016. That same year, she co-starred alongside James Franco in the TV movie Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?

Since June 24, 2018, she is hosting the TV series The Look All-Stars. As well as appears in the successful TV movie The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time. Tori then competed in The Masked Singer as “Unicorn” on January 30, 2019. She then began a podcast in November 2020, with Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Jennie Garth titled 90210OMG.
