Who is Robert Jeffress?

Robert Jeffress is an American pastor for Southern Baptist. In addition, he is also an author, radio presenter, and televangelist.

Moreover, he is the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church, which has 14,000 congregants located in Dallas, Texas, and also a Fox News Contributor. Moreover, his sermons are aired on the television and radio program Pathway to Victory. His sermons are aired on more than 1,200 television networks in the US and 28 other countries. In addition, it is also heard on 900 stations and broadcast live in 195 countries.

Following the 2017 Las Vegas tragedy, Jeffress stated on Fox Business, “It is real, but evil is also transient.” Following the June 2015 church massacre in Charleston, Jeffress spoke on Fox News and described the assault as “pure, unadulterated evil.”

According to him, he believes in the teachings of Judaism, Islam, Mormonism, and Hinduism decline the truth of Christ. Moreover, he also believes that their adherents ” will go to hell if they don’t accept the christ”.

In an August 2010 sermon, Jeffress stated that Muhammad and Islam encouraged pedophilia, pointing to Aisha’s age at marriage. In addition, he also referred to Roman Catholicism as a “Satanic” consequence of the “Babylonian mystery religion” in 2010.

During an interview in the same year, he said Mormonism was wrong and it was a heresy from the pit of Hell. Despite being a preacher he is a strong conservative. During the 2012 Republican presidential primaries, he endorsed Governor Rick Perry.

On October 7, 2011, he sparked a nationwide controversy. This was after he introduced Perry at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC, by implying that one of Perry’s opponents, Massachusetts’ Mitt Romney, is “opposed to Christianity.” Romney’s Mormonism, according to Jeffress, violates Jesus Christ’s teachings.

Moreover, he had made similar remarks earlier during the 2007 presidential primaries. Moreover, despite his up and down with Romney, he went ahead and endorsed him in the 2012 presidential election. In addition, he opposed the reelection of Barack Obama.

In September 2012, during the campaign period, he went ahead and warned Romney against concentrating more on economic issues only. On November 4th, 2012, Sunday before the general election, he claimed that Obama was paving way for the future reign of the Antichrist.

During the 2016 US presidential election, he endorsed and campaigned for Republican contender Donald Trump. However, he had previously supported Ben Carson. Jeffress further claimed that Christians who refused to vote for or support Trump as the Republican nominee were “fools” who were “driven by pride rather than principle.”

On June 21, 2016, then-candidate Donald Trump appointed Jeffress to the Evangelical Advisory Board and the White House Faith Initiative. “This isn’t so much us advising the president as the president seeking our view on a variety of topics,” Jeffress said of the Board’s relationship with Trump.

In March 2018, Jeffress appeared as a Fox News contributor to discuss allegations that Donald Trump had an affair with former adult film star Stormy Daniels, saying, “Even if it’s proven to be true, it doesn’t matter,” arguing that the president’s personal life is irrelevant because policy matters more than his personal life.
