DR. COME OVBIAGELE, THE BIRTHDAY BOY AT 76

Dr. Come Ovbiagele, the Erstwhile Vice President of the Organization of Nigerian Professionals in America who won the 2016 World Elders’ Day Fashion Contest, is a Master storyteller and Veteran Media Practitioner.
In 1976, Dr. Ovbiagele won the prestigious Times International literary Award at the Department of Dramatic Arts University of Ife. He also won the 1978 Broadcaster of the year Award on Television and the 1991 Best Speaker Award organized by the Toastmasters International in Washington DC USA.
As a man of Extraordinary Scholarship and illustrious Career, and as a thoroughbred Professional who broke barriers and sets records, Dr. Ovbiagele became the Commissioned Biographer to Ex-president Obasanjo’s Monarch His Royal Majesty Oba Dr. Olawale Adisa Odeleye the Olowu of Owu Abeokuta who had the distinguished honor of being the President of the Commonwealth Association of Architects and the first African to bag a PhD in Architecture.
With a Career spanning over 5 decades, Dr. Ovbiagele’s vast treasury of published works have appeared in major Global publications. He has equally authored legions of books including the Blockbuster Bestseller: “LAGOS THE GLORY OF A MEGA CITY”; and he has served in Eminent Capacities in both the Print and Electronic media as Editorial Consultant, Media Consultant and Managing Director/Editor in Chief.
Dr. Ovbiagele lost both parents as a child. His family hardly made it to 40. This is because they had a history of Untimely death and of a very short lifespan; and being the last born, nobody gave him any chance to survive. But by sheer happenstance, a very rich man adopted him and sent him to the best schools in the world.
Dr Ovbiagele deployed his “Golden voice”, to sing Bass with the Nigerian National Festival choir at the 1977 World Black festival of Arts and Culture (Festac ‘77) under the Directorship of Prof. Laz Ekuweme; and as a Seasoned Actor, he featured prominently in various Dramatic productions with the late renowned playwright Professor Ola Rotimi the Author of the masterpiece: “THE GODS ARE NOT TO BLAME”
In addition to being a Globally acclaimed Journalist and Multiple Award Winning Writer, Dr Ovbiagele also modeled for Guinness Nigeria Plc., First Bank Plc. and some other Top brands; and he has an uncanny ability to predict events accurately.
Dr. Come Ovbiagele is currently the Board of Trustees and Governing Council Secretary of 60plus Advocacy Initiatives; a very vibrant Organization advocating reforms for the Elderly.
