Revelation In Christianity

There are many Christians who are convinced of the existence or possibility of private revelations and messages from God to individuals. These messages could manifest in many different ways. Montanism is a good example of the beginning of Christianity as well as also alleged instances in the present. But, Christians see as higher levels the revelations contained in the books called the Bible. They believe that these books were have been written by human writers with the guidance of The Holy Spirit. They see Jesus as the greatest revelation of God and the Bible as an act of revealing in terms that it is being a testimony to God. A Catechism for the Catholic Church declares it is “the Christian faith is not a ‘religion of the book.’ Christianity is the religion of the word of God, a word which is ‘not a written and mute word, but the Word which is incarnate and living”.

Revelation In Islam

Muslims consider that God sent his last message to all people through Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. Muhammad is believed to be one of the prophets who was Seal of the Prophets. the final revelation, the Qur’an is widely believed to be believed by Muslims to have been the perfect final message of God to mankind, which is that is valid until the day of the Lord. The Qur’an declares to be revealed word for word, and letter by letter.
Muslims believe their belief that Islam is identical to the message that was preached by the various messengers who were that God has sent through God to mankind from the time of Adam. Muslims are of the opinion the belief that Islam is the most ancient of monotheistic religions since it represents both the initial and ultimate revelations of God in the form of Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus, and Muhammad.

Additionally, Muslims believe that every prophet had a revelation during their lives. This is because each prophet was chosen by God to lead humanity. Jesus is important in this regard because the revelation he received was in two different ways in that Muslims believe that he taught the Gospel as well as being instructed in the Torah.

According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad began receiving revelations at the age of 40. They were given by Gabriel the angel Gabriel during the final three years of his existence. The contents of these messages, referred to as the Qur’an documented and memorized by his followers. It was then collated from the dozens of hafiz, as well as other different parchments and covers into a single volume shortly after his demise.
In Judaism.

The word “revelation” is used with two different meanings in Jewish theology. Orthodox Jews, Christians, and Muslims are of the belief they believe that the Torah was given by God at the biblical Mount Sinai. A majority of Christians consider that the Old Testament and the New Testament were created by God. Muslims consider that the Quran was communicated through God to Muhammad in the form of words through Gabriel, the angel of God. Gabriel (Jibril).

A message sent by an unnatural entity and claimed to be present during the time of the event is referred to as a vision.
In the Abrahamic religion, the word is used to describe the process through which God discloses his knowledge of God, his will, and his divine guidance to humans. In a second sense, the word “revelation” is the resultant human understanding of God as well as prophecy and other godly things. The revelation of a supernatural source has lesser importance in various other religions like Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.

Different types of revelation.

  1. General (or indirect) revelation, is also known as “general” or “indirect” since it is accessible to all. This term is commonly described as the manner in which God is shown through nature, the conscience of individuals aware of morality, Scripture, or reasoning.
  2. 2, (or directly) revelation, also known as direct because it’s a direct revelation to an individual, or occasionally to a group of people. It is used to describe how God is revealed to us through the vision, dream, or a supernatural experience of prophecy. The Scriptures of certain faiths are considered to be an outcome of a special revelation.
